Waist signs for doors are made of self-adhesive film that is easy to attach to smooth surfaces. Aluminium waist signs are also available for PVC-free spaces. These are best applied using double-sided tape or film. Waist signs serve as supplementary markings that clarify evacuation doors where there is a high ceiling and the evacuation sign above the door can be perceived as disappearing into space. Another application for waist signs is when there is little space above the evacuation door. This allows the door to be labelled.
